I forgot to pray
Have you ever forgotten to pray? Yeah… me too. All the time actually. I had a painting performance recently in Plano, TX. It was a small, intimate event with less than 50 people and it was at a church that has booked me before. I love when churches bring me back, because that means that they really value what I do.
After setting up my stage gear I waited for my cue to begin while browsing on my phone. When they announced it was time for me to begin I started my painting and finished it smoothly and it went great. I was pleased with how it went and based on their response, I am sure they enjoyed it as well. It wasn’t until a day later that I realized… I had forgotten to pray and ask God to bless my performance and the people that were with me.
Praying before a performance is something that I have done without fail since I began this ministry in 2009. I was very disappointed that I had overlooked God in this instance and immediately asked forgiveness and praise for being there despite my lack of prayer. You see, even when we “forget” about God, He still shows up. He’s always there to see us through whatever we are doing. What a comfort to know that God is with me every step of the way and even if I forget, He will never forget. His love for us is so much bigger than we can imagine and we can trust in His promise in Deuteronomy 31:6 “…for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you or forsake you.”
Can I get an AMEN?!
