I know one…

Auction speed painter for fundraiser and gala

As I cleaned up my mess and gathered my supplies, after performing at a Catholic School fundraising Gala, I was surprised when I turned to see an older woman approaching with determination set on her face. With grateful tears in her eyes and arms open, she hugged me tightly for what must have been 15 seconds. As she wept, she thanked me for my painting performance and the moment that it created. She was a teacher there at St. Anthony of Padua in Woodlands Texas and was very moved, not only by the speed painting, but also the money that was raised. The gala was a huge success and I thanked God for using me to help raise almost $16,000 at this fundraiser with my art. I could tell she had a big heart for her children there at the school as she told me a little bit about herself. That night, I met a lot of sweet people that thanked me for what I contributed.

I’m often asked what denomination I belong to, especially at Catholic School fundraisers. They want to know if I too am catholic. My answer is always the same. “I really don’t claim a denomination. I am a Christian speed painter and I have a relationship with Jesus Christ.” My response is always met with love and approval. That’s one of the things I love most about what I do. Everywhere I go I am treated like family, no matter the denomination. I’ve painted for Christian schools, Catholic schools, Lutherans, Presbyterians, and many more. It’s a beautiful picture of God’s design for community and family. Love, acceptance and support no matter what.
